Champion
Community Champions.
Community Champions are the women, girls and allies who lead listening, organising and advocacy where it matters most - in their own villages, wards and counties. They are the front line of the movement.
What Community Champions do
Listen locally
Run listening sessions and surveys with women in your area - surface real demands, not assumptions.
Organise networks
Anchor or strengthen a Village Action Network (VAN) or Community Action Network (CAN).
Engage decision-makers
Bring women's demands to facility committees, ward administrators and county officials.
Track delivery
Help communities publish scorecards on whether commitments are turning into action.
What we provide
- Training in radical listening, facilitation and community organising.
- Toolkits and templates to run listening sessions and surveys.
- Mentorship from experienced champions and the WRA Kenya team.
- A national network of peers across all 47 counties.
Time commitment
Designed to fit real lives.
Champions commit a few hours a week. There is no minimum education requirement - only commitment, integrity and willingness to listen.
